Celebrate the #PowerOfUs Through Beauty, Community & Sisterhood

Dove, Suave Professionals for Natural Hair, TRESemmé, Vaseline and Dove Men+Care are coming together at ESSENCE Fest to celebrate the beauty, power and strength of Black women and men with the #PowerOfUs – because we know you are beautiful, strong and together you can create real change. From advocating for game-changing legislation to indulging in the pampering experiences you deserve, your 25th anniversary experience is guaranteed to celebrate the magic of the #PowerOfUs.
Make Hair Discrimination Illegal
8 out of 10 Black women are more likely to change their natural hair to meet social norms or expectations at work.  Dove together with the National Urban League, Western Center on Law & Poverty and Color of Change created the C.R.O.W.N Coalition to make hair discrimination illegal. The C.R.O.W.N Act was introduced in California to “Create a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair” by clarifying that traits historically associated with race, such as hair texture and hairstyle, be protected from discrimination in the work place and in our public and charter schools.  You can show your support by visiting our space in the Beauty Carnival to sign the petition, send postcards to your state legislators, and make your voice heard.
Take the Pledge for Paternity Leave
Less than 1 in 5 men in the U.S. are offered paid paternity leave. To advance the conversation and reinforce the brand as long-term supporters of caring dads and champions of men and paternity leave, Dove Men+Care launched the Pledge for Paternity Leave as a call to new dads, allies and business leaders to show their support and encourage the dads in their lives to take meaningful time off to bond with their new child. We invite everyone to sign the Pledge for Paternity Leave at dovemencare.com/pledge and support every dads’ right to paid paternity leave — because when dads take leave, it benefits everyone.
Get the Funding & Leadership Training to Bring Your Vision to Life
When women lead, they make a profoundly positive impact on other women and the world, using their power to empower others. TRESemmé believes that women should be equally represented at all levels of society. This year TRESemmé has teamed up with Vital Voices to launch the Vital Voices Global Partnership Leadership Incubator: a year-long signature program to invest in visionary women with funding, curated training and mentorship to advance their leadership journey. For 70 years, the brand has helped women express themselves with confidence, ensuring they look good and feel good as they make their mark on the world. But confidence only gets you so far in a broken system. While we can’t fix the biases and stereotypes alone, we can leverage our brand to support women to succeed.
